Whether you want to hike 5 miles to an epic overlook and say your vows as the wind whips your hair, or you want to take 4x4 roads to a specific location, we’ve got you covered. I’ve joined couples on 4 day bikepacking trips, roadtripped to different locations, and photographed elopements with elegant details and head table set ups. WHAT IF WE’VE NEVER BEEN TO BIG BEND, CAN YOU GIVE US RECOMMENDATIONS ON WHAT TO DO & WHERE TO STAY?

Showing off Big Bend is one of my favorite things; I’ve taken dozens of people on their first trips to the area, and getting to see their wonder and amazement at the wild, rugged, hugeness of the Big Bend area never gets old. That said, I can definitely give you all the recommendations on things to do in Big Bend National Park, Big Bend Ranch State Park, the Terlingua Ghost Town, and even Marfa, Alpine, and Fort Davis!

WHAT’S THE BEST TIME OF YEAR TO ELOPE IN BIG BEND?

Depending on what activity you want to do (canoeing, backpacking, etc), there may be a specific month or season that’s best! We can definitely go into the specifics on your free initial consultation call. Typically, I recommend October, January, and April as the best times to elopement in Big Bend National Park.

WILL WE HAVE TO HIKE IN OUR WEDDING CLOTHES?

It depends! If you want to do a longer hike to get to an epic spot, it may be best to start out in comfy hiking clothes and change once we get there. If the hike is super short to get to the ceremony site, it may be best to stay in your wedding clothes and just wear a good pair of shoes! During the planning process, we will discuss logistics specific to your elopement locations. However, if one of your priorities is not having to hike in your wedding clothes, we can be sure to choose locations that are super easily accessible.

WE WANT TO DO A BACKCOUNTRY ELOPEMENT, DO YOU HAVE A PACKAGE FOR THAT?

What better way to start your next big life adventure than with an outdoor adventure? I offer a variety of multi-day packages that can be used for activities like canoeing, backpacking, bikepacking, etc. I’ve spent years exploring Big Bend and done multiple backcountry, multi-day trips myself, and would be stoked to help document yours.

HOW WILL WE PICK OUR ELOPEMENT LOCATION(S)?

Once you give me the thumbs up that you’re ready to book and you’ve paid your retainer, I’ll send over my in-depth Location Questionnaire. This questionnaire will ask you all the questions you never even knew you needed to be thinking about when it comes to choosing your elopement location so we can pick the best spot for your day. Once you submit your questionnaire, I’ll start working on your location recommendations. Then, we will hop on a call together and go over all the options, the pros and cons, and things to think about, and narrow down your options.

WHAT IF WE HAVE BAD WEATHER ON OUR ELOPEMENT DAY?

Part of having an outdoors-centric day is the fact that there are many things we can’t control. Weather is one of them. In the event that it rains on your elopement day, we will come up with a backup option based on your priorities. For example, we could move the ceremony indoors to a spot in Terlingua, we could drive north to Fort Davis or Marfa, or just shoot in the rain!
